GCA Talent Show

Just had to share a picture from last nights talent show.  Students from Gwinnett Christian Academy performed to raise money for books for our library.  It was quite entertaining, and there are many talented kids out there!  We had a baton twirler, a yo you expert, several singers, a drummer, a few dancers, and last but certainly not least the famous group, "25 cents".  Thank you Debbie, Jason, Lisa, and Laura for your amazing "talent:>

Zippered Pouch

I finally made the long awaited zippered pouch.  I used directions from here:  http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=22875.0, thanks, Erika!  I was pleased with how it turned out, however, I would like to try to make one so the sides could be longer; not just end where the zipper ended.  I will have to work on that.  The pouch is now my new make-up bag for my purse and it is working out quite well as the last one I was using was to small, didn't zip, and everything just fell out. Not sure what the next Goodwill fabric project will be.  Pillow covers, curtains, table runner, more purses, bags, pouches.....so much to sew, so little time!

Valentine's Day Crafts

I was very busy last week making all kinds of Valentine goodies.  I think Valentine's Day is a holiday that people tend to forget unless they are in a romantic relationship. However, I always like to celebrate as I consider it a day to share an expression of love with everyone.  So here are some pictures of my expressions of love for my friends and family.

Rain, rain go away!

Well, I think this is day 3 of the rain.  My yard is drenched; it is starting to have puddles in it.  It is dark and dreary and on days like today I find it difficult to get anything accomplished.  I have been meaning to make a zippered pouch as a makeup bag for my purse, but so far this week has flown by and it's already Friday!  Yesterday was my Computer classes for k5-5th grade.  I think I need some practice/suggestions for classroom management.  I love the precious cherubs, but some days are definitely an exercise in patience for me!  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  Tomorrow I have to give a seminar on "Galileo" for the teachers.  While this is an amazing research resource, standing up in front of people and lecturing is not one of my strong suits.  I am very nervous and will just be glad when it is all over with.  That is what I have spent all this week working on with the help of Mike.  I may have him fill in for me if my knees start ashakin' and my voice starts aquakin'!  Monday night we will be hosting 6 guests from Bob Jones University.  They will be singing in chapel on Tuesday.  We will need to provide breakfast and I am hoping that Mike will make his wonderful breakfast burritos that were such a big hit with the IJGA boys last year.  They are great if you need to make alot of breakfast food at once.  Sooo, hopefully, after Monday I will be able to get back into the sewing/crafting mode and have some new projects to share.
